The spiral drill collars are made from 4145H modified chromium-molybdemum alloy steel acc. to API Spec.7 and SY/T5144
The spiral drill collars are made from 4145H modified chromium-molybdemum alloy steel acc. to API Spec.7 and SY/T5144.All threads are phosphated, copperized or cold worked. All Connections are equipped with pressed steel thread protectors. All threads are machined with CNC Lathes-Double-shouldered and special threads, and the max OD of spiral drill collars is 14 inch.
The API 7-1 spiral drill collar has the following main uses:
1. Provide partial gravity for drilling tools. The spiral drill collar has a certain weight of its own and can apply drilling pressure to the bit during the drilling process to help the bit break rocks.
2. Stabilize the drilling tool assembly. It can enhance the rigidity of the drilling tool, reduce the bending and vibration of the drilling tool during the drilling process, and make the drilling tool assembly more stable, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of drilling.
3. Improve the circulation of drilling fluid. The spiral structure helps the drilling fluid flow better around the drill collar, promotes the carrying and discharge of cuttings, and prevents accidents such as stuck pipes.
